These two sisters are looking for a patient, understanding, loving family who has experience with rats, or are willing to work with them, through thick and thin. They were rescued from a very bad situation along with 18 other rats, many of whom will also need a special home.
Eponine and Pierrette have both come so far. Out of all of the girls from this large rescue, they have adjusted most quickly to new situations. In February 2016, both girls presented with a small mammary tumor in their gr...

Fleur & Cosette
These two sisters are looking for a patient, understanding, loving family who has experience with rats, or are willing to work with them, through thick and thin. They were rescued from a very bad situation along with 18 other rats, many of whom will also need a special home.
The first is tiny little Fleur. Despite her diminutive size, Fleur is quick to protect her much larger sister, Cosette. She is unfortunately still quite prone to nipping, especially when anyone tries to pick her up. Howev...

Pipper & Charlie
Meet Pipper and Charlie. These two sweethearts didn't get much love or attention in their previous home where it seems like they were rarely handled. Pipper (agouti) arrived with a pea-sized abscess on her throat which has now been resolved and 100% healed. She is definitely the slightly more nervous of the two girls. Charlie is slightly more outgoing, and much more easily coaxed out with food and gentle words.
Both girls still have a ways to go and are looking for a caring, understanding hom...

Fred & George
These brave little boys are estimated to be about 3.5 months old as of April 20, 2015.
Fred & George are two nearly identically, and totally inseparable brothers. They have lived every moment of their young lives so far, together, and we would like to make sure that it stays that way. The best way to tell these boys apart is to look at their white tummy markings. Similar, but one definitely has a little more white (we just aren't sure which yet!).
Both boys are super outgoing and always fo...

These two lucky boys are unfazed by the sudden change in their life and has accepted their new freedom with gusto! They are looking for a forever home that will allow them to climb, explore and...

Update: Spirit
On September 25, 2014 we took in a frail, thin, and very sick little girl. Quite honestly, we had fears that she wouldn't make it to October - but had resolved to make whatever time she had left with us as positive, loving, and nurturing as possible.
This is Spirit today. She has exceeded all our expectations and has overcome so many obstacles.
In the last two months and a bit we've watched her put on healthy weight and learn to trust humans, under the loving and devoted hands of Anita...

Spirit
As a rescue we spend a notable amount of time on Kijiji. This is for a variety of reasons – to intercept people looking into pet rats in order to encourage them to adopt, to identify breeders, and, of course, to identify and rescue rats that are put on Kijiji as a way of discarding them when children have lost interest or the rat has gotten sick.
We can’t always save them all. It comes down to operational needs and we are often put in a position where we are at capacity and unable to take in ra...

Soleil & Gaia
Both Soleil and Gaia came from very sad and neglectful previous homes. Little Soleil was a barely grown month-old baby, already separated from her family and given away when the snake wouldn't eat her. Gaia was the extremely young mother and protector of a small liter of babies which she valiantly tried to raise in a jar set at the bottom of an otherwise empty cage. Gaia too, was meant to be snake food, but was too large to be eaten. These two extremely lucky girls who survived extraordinary cir...
