Brothers Cosmo and Quasar are estimated to be about 1.5 years old.
They were originally purchased from Critter Jungle in Orleans, but after being with their family for almost a year, they unfortunately were no longer safe in their current home. With their best interest in mind, their family decided to surrender them to the Rescue.
Both boys are quiet, and more on the shy side. They require quite a bit of coaxing to get them to come out and explore. They definitely do still feel most comfor...

The two of them are inseparable!

Brothers Bowser and Rufus were surrendered to the SPCA Gatineau as seniors in late 2023. We estimate they are just over 2 years old Unfortunately, they have a host of behavioral and health issues requiring some special care.
Bowser is very defensive and wary of humans and will bite to draw blood. He also has a fatty deposit that is not growing or bothering him in his right upper torso. The Rescue is keeping a close eye on it. Rufus is much sweeter and kinder and seems to enjoy the occasional ...

Todd (neutered)
Meet Todd! This shy rex-y boy was abandoned inside an apartment complex and thankfully picked the right family's kitchen cabinets to invade!
The couple who found him fed him for months and even built him a little shelter in their kitchen cabinets while trying to lure him out or catch him.
After several close calls, Todd was finally safely trapped in October of 2023. We estimate he is about 1 year old.
Not surprisingly, Todd is a little bit shy, but he's a total sweet heart.

Fern & Ivy
Sister Fern and Ivy were purchased by their previous owner from Pet Smart in May of 2023. Thus, we estimate that they are about 6 months old currently. Since arriving in their new foster home, they have really come out of their shell and their personalities shine!
Below are a few words from their foster family:...

Wanda & Lilith (spayed)
Sisters Wanda and Lilith were part of a large seizure at the Montreal SPCA. We have very little information about them, except that it's suspected they were originally bred to be snake food. The Montreal SPCA found themselves with over 50 rats and very little space, so these two were transferred to us to give them a better chance of being adopted.
Unfortunately Wanda and Lilith arrived extremely scared. They would literally scream every time you touch them or even attempt to pick them up. Lil...

Velma & Daphne
Sisters Velma & Daphne were purchased from PetSmart about a year ago, and unfortunately they were nor very brave or social. Their previous owner tried what she could to win them over, but having no experience with rats, she had them a year and made no progress and thus decided to surrender them to the Rescue.
Luckily we had an amazing foster who was able to almost immediately gain their trust and in the three weeks they were with that foster, they learned to enjoy hanging out with humans, tak...

Bernadette & Shelby
These sisters are estimated to be born some time in March of 2022. Despite their young lives, they've had a bit of a rough start. Originally purchased from a breeder in Vars who also bred rats for a dog sport called "Barn Hunt", it's no surprise that they arrived extremely skiddish.
Their original owner got bitten several times and despite her best efforts to socialize them, they continued to fear her and avoid her at all costs. Denise especially was so fearful she would let out a blood-curdl...
