Klara and Raven came from 2 very different situations but now live together to make a handsome pair.
Klara came from an awful hoarding situation in Valleyfield, Qc and she had many litters before arriving at the rescue. Her awful beginnings have not tainted her wonderful personality. She is a beautiful girl who has a lot of energy, who loves to run around and play with her humans. She does not have a shy bone in her body and loves everyone she meets. After a difficult beginning, she has found friendship with her new hubby Raven.
Raven (neutered) recently and suddenly lost his brother Sparrow, whom he had lived with since birth. He has found new joy and love living with his new friend Klara. Raven is an outgoing boy who is always ready to come see you, enjoy out-time and give kisses!
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful pair, please fill out the adoption application on this website under Get Involved > Adopt.

** Medical Hold ** Susan has developed a mammary tumor and will not be available for adoption until after successful removal and recovery.
Susan & Gabriel are two sweet rats who are absolutely in love with each other. They are never far from each other, and spend most of their time cuddling, eating while pressed against each other, or taking turns draped over each other.
And if that weren’t cute enough, Gabriel is about twice Susan’s size, yet he regularly lets her roll him over and groom his belly.
This mature bonded pair is looking for a calm and quite home where they will be loved and cared for, and in return, they will regularly make you swoon and laugh at their domestic antics.

These brave little boys are estimated to be about 3.5 months old as of April 20, 2015.
Fred & George are two nearly identically, and totally inseparable brothers. They have lived every moment of their young lives so far, together, and we would like to make sure that it stays that way. The best way to tell these boys apart is to look at their white tummy markings. Similar, but one definitely has a little more white (we just aren’t sure which yet!).
Both boys are super outgoing and always following you around with their faces sticking through the bars. They are looking for a loving home who will give them lots of attention, love and time outside of their cage to explore and discover new things.

These brave little boys are estimated to be about 3.5 months old as of April 20, 2015.
Harry is a black self with a big healing gash on his shoulder. He’s quite the trooper, and despite his deplorable beginnings, is happy to march right out into anyone’s hand! His brother Ronald is just as outgoing.
These two lucky boys are unfazed by the sudden change in their life and has accepted their new freedom with gusto! They are looking for a forever home that will allow them to climb, explore and grow into big happy boys.
Can you give them the love and attention they need to become strapping young rat-men?

These gorgeous dumbo blond boys are brothers who are looking for a perfect home where their similarities will be loved and their subtle differences with be celebrated.
Nuki is the most outgoing and independent of the three. He takes on the role of the alpha and is always protecting his brothers and their home. Toby is Nuki’s little side-kick and will follow his brother wherever he goes. Despareaux is the smallest (by just a hair) and is definitely the most gentle of the three. He’s never quite right behind his two bigger brothers, but prefers to hang back and say ‘hello’ to his human once in a while.
Nuki had a small, benign tumor removed from his neck in late 2014. Despareaux has a small spot of Melanoma on his left hip that has been removed as of early 2015. These very special boys are looking for a experienced home who will respect their needs and love them for the way they are.
To learn more about these brothers, please feel free to contact us. As of April 2015, these brothers are about 1.5 years old.

** Medical Hold **
Noah & Lilou are brothers who were originally dumped in front of a pet store in Orleans along with 13 other rats. They were adopted as babies and lived a wonderful life up until early 2015.
Unfortunately, the family who had adopted them purchased a puppy and decided they no longer wanted Noah & Lilou. So these boys are back in our care. Both are extremely friendly, cuddly and give kisses.
Noah had three small lumps removed from his shoulder and is now in perfect health again. He and his brother would make the perfect, cuddly companions for any family looking for a couple of laid bag snuggle-bugs!

Ghost & Buster are looking for a loving home as an adorable, contrasting pair. While Buster figured out how to go up and down the stairs in their foster home within an hour, Ghost decided he liked his foster mom’s lap, and has now settled into a nightly routine of leisurely exploring followed by a long session of cuddling.
Buster at some point in his young life, lost about half of his tail. However, it has healed cleanly and now does not bother him in the slightest. Ghost is a perfect albino, with soft pink eyes and delicate white whiskers.
These two brothers must be adopted as a pair. They can also be adopted with their foster brothers, Jared & Monty.

These two adorable 8-11 month old boys are looking for a forever home together. Here are a few words from their foster-dad:
Hi, my name is Ilia and I was lucky to become a foster for these amazing rats during my short four-month visit to Ottawa. Their names mean “Black and White”, and “Stripe”, respectively. They came in a tiny hamster cage on January 28th 2015, and soon got used to their new, six-story cage provided by the Rescue.
Chib is the alpha male. He is not aggressive, although he loves to tease his brother every once in a while. He is also a grooming maniac who wants to groom everyone to death!
Strich is a little less social. He can tolerate cuddles for a few seconds, but doesn’t really like to groom or be groomed. He loves food more than anything or anyone 🙂
Both are very good with their litterbox and know a few simple tricks, like opening a box to get the treat inside, or pulling up a rope with a treat tied to the end.
They are so lovable, you will never regret adopting them!

Honeybear and Panda are two extremely sweet and active ladies who lived in a wonderful home until their mom unfortunately ran into some financial trouble. Both girls are very sweet, eager to play, and perfect in just every way. Not only are they great with their litter box, they have a certain awareness about them that makes everything they do too endearing to ignore!
These girls are looking for a family where they will be loved and allowed to play and explore and show you just how sweet rats can be.
They are currently being fostered in Gatineau/Hull.

Meet Rosie and Ellie.
These two tiny bundles of joy are most likely sisters. They have never been separated and are very tightly bonded to each other. Ellie is like the older, more protective sister. She is brave and outgoing and always looking for a chance to climb out and play.
Rosie is more reserved and will take a little longer to win over her trust.
Both girls are around 1 year old, but are the size of 4 month old babies.
Ana is an absolute darling. She just begs to be picked up. She will take every opportunity to climb up on you. Fiona is full of energy and wants to climb and explore, but may take a little longer to coax into your hands. Both girls are friendly and always waiting at the door of their cage.
Bridgette (black) a little bit crazy. She has no interest at all in being held or cuddled. She is doing much more important things like exploring and finding out if she climb the broomstick. Eve (agouti) was a very young mother who gave birth to an unknown number of babies. She takes a little bit of patience to win her trust, but once you have it, she’ll climb into your hand any chance she gets.
These girls are currently being fostered in Ottawa.
Elsa and Hermione are opposites who are never far from each other. While Elsa is brave and playful, Hermione is still quite nervous about hands and tends to dash away and hide. These girls are most often cuddling with each other and so much go to their loving home together.
They are currently being fostered in Ottawa
Polaris & Comet are two adventurous baby brothers looking for a loving home together. Both boys rush to the door of the cage when you walk by and can’t wait to come out to play. They are part of a group of 21 rats rescued on Christmas Eve. They can be adopted with any of the other “McLaren Boys”.
Comet takes a little bit longer to work up the courage to run around and explore, but once he does, he’s a hoot!
Blitzen and Dancer are two adventurous and brave baby brothers looking for a loving home together. Both boys rush to the door of the cage when you walk by and can’t wait to come out to play. They are part of a group of 21 rats rescued on Christmas Eve. They can be adopted with any of the other “McLaren Boys”.
These boys are currently being fostered in Ottawa.
Both boys were rescued by a kind lady in Kingston right before they were to become snake food. Stanley is much larger and very outgoing where as Brando is smaller and takes a little longer to warm up to you. Both boys are oh so sweet and really bask in any attention they get.
Please do not let the fact that these boys are albino put you off. Fur-colour and eye-color are not an indication of temperament or personality. Just like other rats, these brothers are looking for a loving home of their own.
They are the perfect pair, but also perfect opposites. While Squiggles can never get enough of out-time, and never gets tired of running all over her human, Guideon just likes to be lounge and be handed treats. They are very much bonded to each other and are looking for a loving home as a pair.
Ruby and Bee were surrendered by someone who had two accidental litters, resulting in many unwanted rats. These adorable 5 month old girls are both well socialized and very happy, loving attention and out time with their human friends. The love running around and exploring. Ruby, the smallest girl, is the most outgoing, and Bee needs a little time to get used to new people. After a couple of days, she is just as friendly and outgoing. Would you like to welcome these two cuties into your life?

Quinn was previously a huge bully. He hated all other rats with a passion and even viciously attacked his cagemate. Thankfully, he was surrendered to the Ottawa Pet Rat Rescue. After a neuter, lots of love, and tons of patience, Quinn has now found his perfect home: right between a pair of lovely ladies. This sweet boy is certainly living life to the fullest!

These two lucky boys were originally part of the Notorious Nine. They were the first lucky pair to be adopted by their doting mom. Now, they live a life of luxury in a huge ferret cage, with tons of toys, tunnels and hammocks, eating natural foods and healthy treats every single day.
Nezbit and Norbit with their new brother Shadow Bear.

Nelly was one of the 4 French girls originally rescued from a Montreal pet store where they were about to become used as feeders. After living a full life with a gaggle of other girls in a Princess-themed Critter Nation, Nelly is now a grouchy, but content old lady, getting spoiled and taking up all of her human mom’s attention.
Meet Mr. Moo, Maggie and Molly, three of the most adorable and friendly rats you will ever meet. Poor Mr. Moo was found trying to survive outside. He was infested by a huge bot fly larva, then later had to recover from a massive abscess in his side and groin. Just when we thought he had found his perfect home, the hormones kicked in, and Mr. Moo had to be separated while he waited for a neuter. Now much calmer, Mr. Moo lives with two of the Blonde sisters, Maggie and Molly who were surrendered at exactly 2 weeks of age. A happy “harem” as we like to call it!
Now named Mistrale and Stella, this gorgeous mother-daughter pair have found their forever home. While other people over-looked this beautiful pair for months, their new human mom and dad could see how sweet and loving these girls could be. Thank you!
Mina is the black Rex, who also happens to be a brave adventurer able to climb just about anything! Lil’ Momma loves to give kisses, and as her name suggests, is the mother of the Blondie Babies. Both girls captured the heart of their foster mom, and never left!
