These 4 tightly bonded girls range from 8 months old (Lucy) to the eldest, being 18 months old (Ivy). Sisters Poppy and Pixie are estimated to be about 1 year old.
We would like to find them a home together as each of them relies strongly on the other for comfort and confidence. Of the 4, Lucy is definitely the most shy. She may never exactly be a human rat, as she much prefers the company of her sisters. Once she's out of the cage, she's quite confident in exploring and running around on her...

Amy (sponsor me!)
Sweet, awkward Amy was surrendered to the Rescue by a previous owner who could not afford to take her to see a vet. Amy had unfortunately been living in a small tank on wood shavings her whole life. She had developed respiratory symptoms several months earlier, but her previous owner did not or could not take her to see a vet.
Finally, when Amy started to show severe symptoms, including lack of appetite, lethargy and gasping, her previous owner reached out to the Rescue, asking us to save her...

Daisy (sponsor me!)
Elderly Daisy was brought to the Rescue along with her sister almost 2 and half years ago.
They have been with the Rescue ever since and were never even put up for adoption. The reason was because both girls are half wild and mostly feral. Their mother was dumped in a warehouse and was impregnated by wild rats. Daisy and her sister were born in the wild and raised in the wild.
Unfortuantely, the warehouse manager decided to call in an exterminator, and so with the help of a kind woman, we t...

His monthly medical bill is about $30.

Ellie (sponsor me!)
Sweet elderly Ellie was surrendered to the rescue covered in lice, with a respiratory infection and initial symptoms of PT (pituitary tumor). We were honestly not even sure if little old Ellie would make it. Miraculously, with the love and care of her foster, plus the right antibioitcs and cabergoline to treat her PT symptoms, Ellie is almost completely back to being a normal rat.
She's a little cuddlier than most, and she does sleep a lot, but you would never know that just a few weeks ago, ...

Now in the care of the Rescue, one of our most experienced foster homes is doing everything they can to keep Murray healthy and happy.
Murray requires daily antibioitcs and...

Ronnie & Ru
Meet adorable sisters, Ronnie & Ru.
These two fun, quirky girls were estimated to be born around Sept. of 2019. They are inseparable and absolutely love chilling together in their hammocks.
They are extremely friendly and well-socialized and came from a home that obviously cared a lot about them, but unfortunately just ended up with too many rats to have the time and resources to provide for them in the long-run.
Especially seeing as Ru is hairless, she will need a family that is knowledg...

Quincy & Perceval
Identical twin brothers, Quincy & Perceval were born sometime in April of 2020, making them currently the youngest rats at the Rescue. These brothers were purchased from Kijiji, only to have mites or lice, which unfortunately their previous human did not have the time or funds to treat.
With just a drop of Revolution each, and a very thorough cage clean, these brothers are now healthy, curious, bouncy and ready to find that perfect forever home.
Although they may look identical, you can ea...

Meet friendly, adorable sisters, Duckie & Dove.

Duckie & Dove need a home where they will have lots of space, toys, and plenty of time outside of their cage to interact with their humans where they can live out the rest of their lives together.
If you are interested in adop...

They are now at a much healthier weight, and have learned to relax and enjoy the ...

Gordon
Sweet and independant Gordon has the honor of being the oldest rat currently living at the Rescue. He was surrendered along with 10 other rats at the age of 1-1.5 years old in 2019, and has never been able to get completely healthy.
To this day, Gordon requires twice daily doxycycline and prednisone to keep his respiratory infection under control.
Good thing is, Gordon LOVES cooked food. He loves rice, pasta, baby food, veggie purees and all sort of human junk food, so getting him to take ...

Lexie & Jackie
These tightly bonded girls were surrendered to the SPCA in Gatineau because their previous owner wanted to euthanize them after they got lice. Thankfully, the vet refused, and referred them to the SPCA. Due to their poor chances at the SPCA, these girls were transferred into the care of the Ottawa Pet Rat Rescue.
After 6 months with the Rescue, the oldest girl, Blossom, unfortunately finally succumbed to her illness and with careful consideration and support from our vet, she was put to sleep...

Papi, Chaton & Coco
Meet these 3 adorable boys who are friendly, well-socialized, love to interact with their humans and are all-round, just perfect rats.
Coco (beige and white) is definitely the leader of the three. He is mister independent and takes it upon himself to be alpha and to keep the others in line and safe. Papi (brown dumbo) is probably the most chill and cuddly of the three. He's relaxed, he's happy to get cuddles, food and lots of naps. Finally, we have tiny little Chaton who is a few months young...

Harvey (neutered)
Meet shy but friendly and curious Harvey. Transferred to us from the Bramptom SPCA as part of an eviction/seizure, Harvey was originally living with his brother, Remy. Unfortunately, they started fighting non-stop, and as a result both boys had to be neutered and separated.
Now several weeks after his neuter, Harvey and his brother still aren't getting along, so we decided that it would be best for Harvey to find himself some girlfriends instead.
Estimated at around 10-12 months old, Harve...

Earl & Bernie

Of the two, Bernie is more laid back and loves people. He will lick your fingers and spend his entire time running around on you or near you. Earl on the other hand is a little bit more reserved. Though he may...
