Update Oct. 20, 2022: It has been discovered that Pip has a grade 3 heart murmur. Currently it is not impacting her behaviour or quality of life, however, special care may be required in the future.
Pip & Lexi have not had an easy life so far. We estimate that they were born November of 2021 and are most likely sisters. On one of the coldest days of winter, they were found in a taped up box on the side of the road in Napanee, ON. Luckily, a kind human found them and brought them to the Rescue.
Unluckily for us, they were in that box with a male and were both pregnant. Lexi gave birth on Jan. 31, 2021 while Pip gave birth on Feb. 11, 2022. Understandably, both of them arrived at the Rescue extremely timid and shy. Pip especially had a nipping problem, but this was mainly due to her strong instincts to protect her babies.
Now that all of the babies have been weaned, and Pip & Lexi have spent close to a month with a loving foster, both of them have had a complete change in personality.
Pip is so sweet and fun loving, and always ready to come out and say “hi”. She is very gentle when taking treats and does not mind being picked up for belly kisses at all.
Meanwhile, Lexi is still just the tiniest bit shy, but once she gets to know you, she’s so sweet and will often try to quietly clamber into your lap for a quick sniff and pets. Both girls have a come a long way but are now ready for their forever home.
Pip & Lexi can be adopted with their friends/sisters, Beatrix and Nora.
